A place where we can share our images and ideas in a supportive community
Xhibit is our monthly online meeting where we can share and talk about our images and creative ideas in a safe and supportive community of passionate photographers, free from the pressures of competitions and social media. No scores, grades, or judgements will be given here! Meetings are open to all members and prospective members.
Xhibit meets monthly on Zoom, on the first Monday of the month. Any participant who wishes to can submit up to two images prior to the meeting, and at the meeting they’ll have the opportunity to speak about each image. They’re free to tell the meeting anything they wish about each image - perhaps where and when they took it or how they created it, their process, how they felt, what they’re trying to achieve, whether they feel they’ve succeeded, what they plan to do next - anything they like! If they wish they can then invite feedback, comments and suggestions from the group, and then a lively and positive discussion ensues before we move on to the next image.
The opportunity to talk about our images with other photographers who are equally passionate about their work is one of the real strengths of Xhibit.
What you need to know…
Image submission: You can submit up to two images. Images are due by midnight on the Friday before the meeting.
Images must be submitted as jpeg images no larger than 5MB - however, there’s really no need for images to be larger than screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Xhibit team will put together a slideshow of all the submitted images.
Joining the meeting: Meetings take place from 7-9pm on the first Monday of the month, on Zoom.
The Zoom details are in the club newsletter, and on the Xhibit event page in the members’ Facebook group. Each year they’re the same from month to month.
If necessary you can email the Xhibit team at photoxhibit@gmail.com to get the Zoom details. Please do this well in advance of the meeting to ensure a timely reply.
You don’t need to have submitted images to attend!
At the meeting: Meetings run informally, hosted by a member of the Xhibit team. Usual Zoom etiquette applies, such as keeping yourself muted when you’re not speaking, paticularly if there’s any noise in the background. We encourage turning cameras on, especially when speaking.
The host will play the slideshow of submitted images, and invite each photographer to speak about their images as they come up. If the photographer invites feedback and comments the host will open the floor to discussion; please keep your comments constructive, respectful and supportive, give others an opportunity to speak, and be respectful of differing views.
Expectation: At Xhibit we want to grow and foster the authentic voice of our members, and thus we expect all participants to behave in a respectful and supportive way. We encourage you to share your positive feedback and encouragement with each other in the meetings.
