PSNZ National Interclub Competition
The club plans to enter the Digital Open and Digital Landscape categories of the PSNZ National Interclub Competition. If you wish to submit some images for possible inclusion in the club's entries, please read the information below and email your submissions by *midnight Wednesday 4th March*. More information about how to submnit images has been emailed to Club members.
The PSNZ National Interclub Competition is a competition for clubs. There are four categories, open and landscape in each of print and digital; entries in each consist of four images, which must be by different club members. Time is short (entries close 11th March) so we will just enter the digital categories this year; next year we may enter the print categories too. More information can be found at the link at the bottom of this message.
Under the rules of the competition any image you submit must meet the following requirements:
- It must have been exposed by you.
- Any processing must have been done by you, or at your specific direction.
- Any composite image must contain only original work by you.
- It must not have been created by Generative AI, or contain any elements created, substituted or removed by Generative AI.
For submission purposes please save your images as jpeg sized to screen resolution of max 1920px on the long edge. All images must have a title, and in your email message please confirm that your submissions meet the requirements above.
There's no need to say which category (landscape or open) you're submitting to. All landscape images will be considered under open too, but will be chosen for at most one category.
After submissions have closed, a panel of club members will convene to choose the four images to use in each category. If your image is chosen you'll be asked to provide a copy meeting the technical requirements of the competition (jpeg, max 3840px on the horizontal, max 2160px on the vertical, sRGB colour space, max file size 10MB). We'll need this pretty promptly, to meet the competition deadline.

Trenna Packer
In June each year the club enters the Trenna Packer Salver: a nature photography competition that aims to illustrate the diversity of the natural history of NZ and its offshore islands, with images of a high quality.
To enter we need images with a range of subjects (plants, fungi, flowers, insects, invertebrates, birds, reptiles, marine mammals, geological features...anything and everything!) and from a range of photographers: entries consist of six images and can have at most one or possibly two per photographer.
There's some fine print: all subjects must be native to NZ, photographed in NZ, and wild/uncultivated/unconfined and in their natural habitat. Images must avoid evidence of humans, and there are restrictions on the postprocessing techniques permitted.
We'll put out the call for submissions in April or May; this notice is just to put the competition on your radar, and get you out there snapping!
