About the Manawatu Camera Club

Welcome to the Manawatu Camera Club! The Club's aim is to promote the enjoyment of photography for individuals and the community! The Club has existed since 24 May 1947 - for over 50 years - an indication of the enthusiasm of members who share the passion of making images and sharing their work.

Photography - a Family Hobby

Photography can be fun, challenging, creative and a new area of learning. Photography can be enjoyed by people of all ages and cultures. You will know which photographs you treasure. They may have been taken last week or 100 years ago. Come along to Camera Club and see the images from other amateur photographers. Learn the art of seeing; learn the art of using the magic of changing light.

We have an exciting program with workshops, visiting evaluators, trips and conventions!

Do join us on the second and fourth Mondays of the month!

There is no requirement to enter competitions. If you enjoy photography and wish to enjoy the social side of photography - we welcome you and your family!
Visitors may like to attend meetings two or three times before deciding to join the Club.

A donation of $1per person is appreciated each club night to cover hire of the club rooms and provide coffee/tea and biscuits.

.... you learn to photograph well the same way you learn to drive well: by doing it carefuly and frequently.
