Being from a middle-class Indian family, affording a good camera to learn photography was out of question for me as a child. I have always been keen on taking pictures and being in pictures as well. While I was in The Netherlands for my studies, my friends Marie and Robert had a Canon EOS SLR film camera. I got the chance to use an SLR camera for the first time. The feeling of using an SLR camera was so right that I saved some money to buy my first SLR film camera in 2002, and now with a push from another friend Batian, I moved onto digital SLR camera.

I came to New Zealand last year. Looking at my interest in Photography, my friend Denise suggested join the Manawatu Camera Club. In this club I met very talented friends like Udo, Steve, Richard and Colin, who don't mind answering my naïve questions about camera and photography. I thank all the friends mentioned above for motivating me and encouraging me to pursue this passion of Photography.

Some of my Work

Attitude

I have several bird pictures, but I like this one because this swan has an attitude

Drooling over the Future

I took this image in colour and then desaturated it in Photoshop to get black and white tones.

Plane

I wish I would have had a lens with higher focal length to get the same picture

Stand Alone

A classic view of the Manawatu region where we now live; the ubiquitous sheep and endless rolling hills were captured here at one of the wind farms near home using an 80mm zoom lens and my Nikon F60.

Sunset

Sunsets is one thing which New Zealand is certainly blessed with..

Sunrise at Castle Point

Castle Point is one of the must- see places on the North Island of NZ.
